‘Guus Hiddink to choose Chelsea over Anzhi’

Speculation is growing that football coach Guus Hiddink could soon be back at Chelsea for a spell as temporary manager.

The Dutchman has already worked with the side owned by his friend, the billionaire Roman Abramovich, back in 2009, and led the Blues to victory in the FA Cup.

Earlier, the 65-year-old specialist told RT (Russia Today) he was looking for a move back into the game.

And, though his name is being linked to a possible move to Russian side Anzhi, Dutch journalist Franz Van Den Nieuvenhof believes Chelsea is the more likely option.

“What I know is that he [Hiddink] and his girlfriend had a very good period in England, in London. They enjoyed very much living there,” he said.

But, according to Nieuvenhof, besides comfort, the Chelsea job will also provide a challenge which may be very interesting for the coach.

“He loves Chelsea and there’s a lot to do at Chelsea,” the journalist added. “They are quite an old team. They need to redevelop their squad. And I think that’s something he likes very much to do.”

Hiddink, who led Russia to third place at Euro 2008, is in search of a new job after being fired by the Turkish national team for failing to qualify for next year’s European championships.
