European air safety officials will check the entire Airbus A380 superjumbo jets for cracks in their wings. The gradual inspection will be conducted on all 68 A380 jets now in service.

“This is an extension of a process already underway,” Reuters quoted a source familiar with the situation as saying.

Airbus maintains that their newest jets remain safe to fly. It has not commented on the decision to broaden the checks. They started last month on a third of the A380 fleet after a cracked component inside an aircraft’s wings was discovered.
