One of the most followed football club in Nigeria, Arsenal football club of England has concluded plans on a Pre- season tour to the country,thereby making them the third English Premiership side to visit the country.
Fans of Arsenal will have live, a test of what they see on the Television when ‘The gunners’ come to town form July 23 to August 3 this year. As part of their preparation for the 2012/13 season, the club decided to connect with their huge fan base in Africa, by visiting the continent starting with Nigeria. Representatives of the club are already in the country to inspect facilities ahead of the visit
The London club host an annual pre-season tournament at the Emirates Stadium, but they opted to postpone the event for a year because of the 2012 London Olympics.
Organizers of the tour DanJan Sports said aside football, the Gunners will engage in community projects during the visit which would see them doing things on Corporate Social Responsibility like charitable events and raising funds. Also ‘the Gunners’ will play friendly games with some local club sides.
